Gandhi & Shastri Jayanti (01/10/2022)
Gandhi & Shastri Jayanti was observed in the Vidyalaya. Various programs were organized in full spirit. The commencement of the celebration was initiated by lead and follow Bhajan. There were speeches on the two great personalities by teachers. Patriotic songs were also sung by students in the programme. There was also a short video presentation on the life and work of Gandhiji.

UNIVERSAL BROTHERHOOD DAY (11th & 12th Sept 2022)
Universal Brotherhood Day was celebrated on 11th & 12th of September 2022 to commemorate the historic speech of Swami Vivekananda at three different places, one in JNV, Chukitong, another at CISF premises and also at school which was followed by Prabhat Ferry. Swamiji’s iconic and historic speech was delivered both in Hindi and English in all the different places. There were also short video presentations and patriotic song presentations. The Prabhat ferry including students, teachers, NEEPCO personnel, CISF jawans and parents started at 7:30 a.m.
TEACHERS’ DAY (05/09/2022)
Teachers’ Day was celebrated in school on the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. Flowers were offered to the portrait of the renowned scholar which was followed by a speech delivered by Sri Biplab Chakraborty, a senior teacher. Moreover, the students of class X played the role of teachers and conducted classes in all the other grades throughout the day. A programme was also organised for the teachers in the afternoon where the students delivered speeches, presented songs, performed dance & drama. There were also games conducted for teachers.

GOVERNOR’S VISIT (24/08/2022)
His excellency Governor
of Nagaland Prof. Jagdish Mukhi visited VKV(NEEPCO) Doyang on 24th August 2022. The students and
staff extended enthusiastic reception and organised a programme where students
presented 10 slokas of Bhagawad Gita, songs and performed semi classical dance.
Honourable Governor in his address praised the Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalayas
for imparting nationalistic education following the ideology of Swami
Vivekananda. He also shared the memories of his association with Vivekananda
Rock Memorial since his young age.
SRI SRI SANKARDEV TITHI (29/08/2022)
Sri Sri Sankardev Tithi was celebrated in school with extreme spiritual and religious zeal on 29th August, 2022. The celebration started with prayers to the Gurujana. There was borgeet presentation by students of class VIII. A talk was delivered by Sri Prasanta Kumar Nath on the life and work of Gurujana which was followed by Diha naam prasanga by some students of class IV & V. At the end there was a sattriya dance performance by a group of students of class X. Prasad was also distributed among the students and teachers after the programme. Apart from all these, an essay writing competition was also conducted for the students of classes VI to X.
JANMASTAMI (18/08/2022)
Krishna Janmastami was celebrated with great pomp and festivity by the students of primary section at VKV(NEEPCO) Doyang on 18th August 2022. Dressed as Krishna, Yasoda Maiya and Gopi, the cute little ones added a traditional touch to the entire celebration when they performed dance drama to the beat of Janmastami songs, filling the air with joy and festive spirit. Teachers offered flowers to the portrait of Lord Krishna. There were also bhajan presentations by a group of students. An eloquent speech was too delivered on the importance of the occasion by teacher, Su. Meghali Borah.
INDEPENDENCE DAY (15/08/2022)
Independence Day was celebrated in VKV(NEEPCO)Doyang with great patriotic fervour. The tricolour was unfurled by the Principal. Students very enthusiastically sang patriotic songs. A speech was delivered on the day by teacher, Sri Manik Ch Deori. The programme concluded with the National song which was followed by sweet distribution.
After the school programme, students and teachers proceeded towards the NEEPCO programme and participated by singing the National Anthem and National Song.
RAKSHA BANDHAN (11/08/2022)
The auspicious bond between sisters and brothers was celebrated on 11th August 2022. The programme started at around 10:00 a.m. with a lamp lighting ceremony followed by the tying of rakhi to Swami Vivekananda portrait by sister teachers. Group songs relevant to the occasion were presented by students of different classes. A skit was also performed by a group of students of classes VII & VIII depicting the special bond between sisters and brothers. Speeches were delivered by teacher, Smt. Jyoti Rekha Gogoi and a student of class VI, Km. Lochumi C Ngullie on the significance of the day. At the end of the programme arrangements were made for tying the sacred thread, Rakhi, by sister teachers to brothers teachers and by sister students to brother students. It also included aarti. Moreover, students were divided into different groups under teacher incharges for tying rakhi outside the school campus at CISF office and NEEPCO office. Apart from all these, an extempore speech competition was held for students of classes VI, VII & VIII.

GURU PURNIMA
The auspicious occasion, Guru Purnima, was celebrated on the 13th July 2022 with great enthusiasm. The programme was for the students of classes VI to X. There was a lead and follow guru bhajan, which was followed by an eloquent speech by a senior teacher, Sri Ram Prawesh Suman where he mentioned about the significance of the occasion and the reason behind the celebration. Apart from these, a Guru bhajan competition was also conducted for the students of secondary classes.
SAMAPAN SAMAROH OF 7 DAY YOGA SATRA FOR BROTHERS (28/06/2022)
Samapan Samaroh of 7 day Yoga Satra for brothers was held on 28th June 2022. The Principal thanked the participants for joining the sessions and distributed yoga charts among them. The programme was graced by Asstt. Commandant of CISF, Sri Prakash who encouraged initiatives like it and also praised the yoga demonstrator of the satra, Sri Nayan Borkataki for his effort.
PRIZE DISTRIBUTION CEREMONY(25/06/2022)
A Prize Distribution Ceremony of a Sit & Draw competition held on the occasion of World Environment Day was conducted on 25th June 2022. The ceremony was graced by Sri N.N Yadav, Inspector, CISF who in his speech spoke about the meaning of art and the importance of it. There was also patriotic song presentation by a group of students.
INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY (21/06/2022)
International Day of Yoga was celebrated in a befitting way in school on 21st June. There were four yoga sessions for students of different classes forming separate groups. Besides Yoga practices, the sessions also included screening of documentaries on asanas and the importance of Yoga in general, talks by teachers on the importance of the day, the benefits of daily yoga practice spreading awareness among the students and encouraging them to follow the same.
Apart from all these, a yoga session was
also conducted for NEEPCO employees in the morning at NEEPCO IB in which one of
the teachers, Sri Nayan Borkataki was the resource person.
In the evening of International Yoga
day, there was an inaugural ceremony of a yoga satra for the brothers which
included teachers, CISF Jawans and also the local populace. The ceremony was
graced by Asstt. Commandant, Sri Prakash as the Chief Guest. He in his speech
encouraged the practice of yoga by people and also joined the yoga session that
followed the ceremony along with his jawans. The total no. of participants
including teachers was 30.
Samapan Samaroh of the 15 day Yoga Satra for sisters that started from 7th June 2022 was organised in the evening in which Smt. Geeta Medak, a Vivekananda Kendra Karyakarta and Golaghat- Karbi Anglong Vibhag Pramukh was the Chief Guest. She while interacting with the attendees spoke on the meaning of Yoga and continuous practice of it. She also cited various examples emphasizing the benefits of it. She also referred to the ideals and the core values of Swami Vivekananda and the relevance of them in our lives to lend a peaceful, unselfish and prosperous life. There was also a song presentation and a group yoga demonstration by students followed by sharing of experiences by participants.
