Ganit Prajna Samvardhan (GPS) programme was successfully conducted on 04/02/2026 at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, NEEPCO Doyang to promote mathematical aptitude and logical reasoning among students. The programme was graced by the presence of the Chief Guest, Sri Shubhankar Bhattacharya, a Mechanical Engineer from IIT Guwahati, presently working as an Executive Trainee at DHPS, NEEPCO. Sri Sumanta Roy delivered a brief address explaining the objectives and importance of the GPS initiative. A patriotic song was also presented by the students of class IX. The programme included the distribution of certificates to the students who qualified in GPP for the last two years. An experience-sharing session was also conducted where Ayon Saikia, a student of class VII shared his learning experiences and motivation gained through the programme. The Chief Guest, Sri Shubhankar Bhattacharya, delivered an inspiring and informative session for the students. He presented a PowerPoint presentation on “Why Mathematics and Science?”, highlighting the importance of these subjects in developing logical thinking and problem-solving skills.
He also conducted an interactive session where he explained how Mathematics plays an important role in various aspects of daily life and encouraged students to develop interest in learning and aim for admission into reputed universities.
