Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (NEEPCO), Doyang organised a five-day Personality Development Camp (PDC) for the students of Class VI from 8th to 12th June 2026 with the objective of fostering the all-round development of the students in the light of the ideals of Swami Vivekananda and the motto of Vivekananda Kendra, “Man-Making and Nation-Building.”
The camp provided a unique platform for the participants to cultivate discipline, leadership qualities, patriotism, teamwork and a spirit of service. It was initiated with a lamp lighting ceremony, a speech by the Principal of the Vidyalaya, Sri Tanmay Sarkar and lead & follow of the shibir geet. Every day commenced with prayer, yoga and physical activities, followed by Bauddhik Satras and group discussions aimed at developing the physical, intellectual, emotional and spiritual dimensions of personality.
The Bauddhik Satras covered a wide range of topics. Shri Bonasree Chetia conducted a session on Swami Vivekananda as a hero, highlighting his patriotism, courage and love for the motherland. Shri Nayan Borkataki spoke on the life and teachings of Srimanta Sankardev, emphasising the importance of Guru-Shishya Parampara and his contribution to society. Smt. Jyoti Rekha Gogoi dealt with Bharatiya Sanskriti and the values of respecting elders, nature and festivals, and perceiving God in every aspect of life. Smt. Minati Pradhan conducted an interactive session on Sanskar Varga and its role in personality development and Pramukh Vyavastha.
The Group Discussion sessions were equally enriching. Shri Sumanta Roy discussed leadership qualities with reference to Swamiji and Eknathji, stressing the importance of hard work, sincerity and childlike simplicity in leadership. Shri Satyam Saikia guided the participants on the theme “Mera Bharat Mahan,” drawing inspiration from Swamiji's love for the motherland, Eknathji's challenges and the sacrifice of Kanaklata Barua, besides highlighting the past and present glories of Bharat. A skit presentation on Swami Vivekananda, Sister Nivedita, Lachit Barphukan and Eknathji was coordinated by Shri Nayan Borkataki and Shri Dipak Kumar. Smt. Manisha Deka acquainted the students with Vivekananda Kendra, its branches and various activities, while Shri Dipak Kumar, Smt. Pujari Narzary and Smt. Minati Pradhan conducted a session on planning and organising Samskar Varga.
The participants enthusiastically took part in various activities including patriotic songs, skit presentations, yoga demonstrations and experience-sharing sessions. The camp helped them develop confidence, communication skills, leadership qualities and a deeper understanding of Indian culture and values.
The Samapan Samaroh was held on 12th June 2026. The programme commenced with Mangalacharan and lighting of the lamp. The Principal welcomed and felicitated the distinguished guest, Sri Mahindra Singh, Inspector, CISF. The participants presented Shibir Geet, skits, patriotic songs and yoga demonstrations. Smt. Jyoti Rekha Gogoi presented the camp report and the students shared their experiences gained during the camp. Awards were presented to the best participants and tokens of love and appreciation were distributed to all the campers. The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks proposed by Shri Satyam Saikia, followed by Shanti Path and Kendra Prayer.
