Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (NEEPCO), Doyang observed Swachhta Pakhwada throughout the period (September 17 – October 2) as part of the cleanliness and hygiene campaign of the Government of India, under the initiative of DHPS, NEEPCO. A series of activities were organised to create awareness among students about the importance of cleanliness, hygiene and environmental responsibility.
The programme began with a Swachhta Pledge, led by the
teachers in both English and Hindi. The pledge inspired the students to
maintain cleanliness in their surroundings and to take responsibility for
keeping their school and community and the country clean.
A Slogan Writing Competition was organised for students of
Classes VI to X, providing them with an opportunity to express their ideas and
messages on cleanliness and hygiene through creative and meaningful slogans.
For the students of Classes I to V, a Sit & Draw
Competition was conducted. The young learners enthusiastically depicted various
aspects of cleanliness, hygiene and a clean environment through their drawings.
Moreover, a talk was also delivered on Cleanliness and
Personal hygiene by Dr. Munindra Saloi, DGM, M&HS, DHPS, NEEPCO. Students
of classes I to V attended the talk.
Apart from all these, the staff members too participated in
cleanliness drives in and around the school premises and residences.
The activities conducted throughout the period witnessed
enthusiastic participation from the students as well as the staff members. The
programme helped reinforce the message that cleanliness is a shared
responsibility and encouraged all to incorporate hygienic and responsible
practices into their daily lives.
