Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (NEEPCO), Doyang, organised a programme to commemorate the Tithi of Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardev on 12th September 2026 in the School Prayer Hall. As it was non-working day for students, the celebration included the entire staff and their family members, and a group of parents and well-wishers.The programme commenced with prayers seeking the blessings of the Almighty. This was followed by solo performances of Borgeet presentation by two teachers, Sri Sumonjit Singh and Smt. Nilakhi Duarah, which added devotion and cultural fervour to the celebration. A devotional Naam presentation by the teachers and parents was also organised, creating an atmosphere of spiritual harmony and collective participation.
The celebration provided an opportunity to remember the life, teachings and contributions of Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardev, a great saint, social reformer and pioneer of Assamese culture and Vaishnavite Bhakti movement. His message of devotion, unity and spiritual upliftment continues to inspire society.The programme concluded with the distribution of Prasad and Jolpan among the attendees.
